Sebastian Segarra
Born in 1980 in Paysandu (Uruguay).
After a youth rocked by different musical styles such as jazz, funk or rock fusion, Sebastian specialized in studies of classic guitar and folkloric and contemporaneous music of his native land.
As part of guitar duos or quartets, or accompanying groups and singers, he took part of numerous international tours over the past ten years, notably in Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, France, Germany, Russia, China, Japan, South Africa or Vietnam. Currently in Paris, he enjoys spreading the music repertoire of the « rio de la Plata » within the guitar duo « de Costa a Costa ».
Musician, guitarist and composer, he also bears artistic projects rewarded and supported by the Uruguayan Ministry of Culture (MEC), the Uruguayan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRRE), the Uruguayan Ministry of Education and Culture or the Uruguayan Music Fund (FONAM): especially for the staging of the audiovisual project « Luminiscencia » on music and soundscapes of the Uruguayan coast, for the « songs of Uruguay » project or for various national and international tours with the duo « Umbral ».

2016. Residence « Voces del Faro ». Casa Blanca (Uruguay): composition of three pieces for guitar «Tres piezas para Casa Blanca ». Animation of musical workshops in the school and the cultural center of the city.

2014. Residence Ibermusicas. Rosario (Argentina): composition of five pieces for guitar and small ensemble « Puentes ». Training courses with guitarists Marcelo Coronel and Carlos Cassasa.
His permanent thirst for improvement leads him to win various competitions, residencies prizes and artistic grants.
